"The church just wants my money—tithing is manipulation and control."
How it sounds in your head: They guilt you every Sunday. The pastor drives a nice car while you're struggling. It's all about building projects and salaries, not ministry. They use God to manipulate you into funding their lifestyle. You're being used.
"Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account."
-- Philippians 4:17Source: Enemy using church hurt and leadership failure to create suspicion of all authority. Trauma from religious abuse twisting generosity into exploitation.
You've seen pastors live lavishly while members struggle. You've watched church splits over money. Leadership has been untrustworthy, and the financial pressure feels constant and gross.
The Philippians gave to Paul's ministry when no other church did, even out of their deep poverty. Paul's response wasn't 'thanks for funding me'—it was 'my God shall supply ALL YOUR NEED according to His riches in glory.' Their giving activated Heaven's supply.
I REFUSE the lie that generosity is manipulation. IT IS WRITTEN that giving produces fruit to MY account, not just the receiver's. I don't give to fund corruption; I give in obedience to a faithful God who sees my heart and rewards it. The BARAK blessing flows through generosity, and the enemy can't stop Heaven's windows from opening over me because of someone else's sin. IT IS WRITTEN that my God supplies all my need when I give. I'm not a victim being used—I'm a covenant partner releasing Kingdom supply. Bad leadership doesn't cancel God's promises over my life.
The Father knows some shepherds have wounded you, and He's furious about it—but He's not asking you to give TO them; He's inviting you to give THROUGH them to Him. Your obedience isn't dependent on their worthiness; it's anchored in HIS faithfulness, and He's running toward you with reward.
