"Tithing was Old Testament law—we're under grace now, not required to give 10%"
How it sounds in your head: I've heard the sermons about law versus grace. We're not under Moses anymore. Jesus fulfilled the law, so tithing was part of that old system. Grace means freedom from religious requirements, and tithing feels like legalism.
"Here mortal men receive tithes, but there he receives them, of whom it is witnessed that he lives."
-- Hebrews 7:8Source: religious confusion mixing truth (grace) with error (eliminating covenant blessing structure), hyper-grace teaching that throws out covenant along with law
Scripture clearly says we're not under law but grace, and Malachi is Old Testament. If we don't follow dietary laws or Sabbath regulations, why would tithing still apply?
Abraham gave Melchizedek (priest of God Most High, a type of Christ) a TENTH of everything after battle victory—this was 430 years BEFORE the Law of Moses. Immediately after, God appeared and said 'I am your shield, your EXCEEDINGLY GREAT REWARD'—covenant blessing explosion connected to the tithe.
I REFUSE the lie that tithing was abolished with the law. IT IS WRITTEN in Hebrews 7:8 that JESUS receives tithes in the new covenant as our eternal High Priest. Abraham tithed before law existed, and I am his seed, heir to the same PROMISE and BLESSING. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed with believing Abraham—the BARAK covers me as I honor God with the tithe. This isn't religious obligation—this is covenant activation. The windows of heaven don't open because of law; they open because of PROMISE. I am not under tithing as law; I am OVER flowing because of covenant blessing.
The Father didn't eliminate the blessing structure when Jesus fulfilled the law—He ENHANCED it by making you an heir to Abraham's promise. The tithe isn't your burden to bear; it's your key to unlock what's already yours in Christ.
