"The chaos in the world means God has lost control and I should be afraid"
How it sounds in your head: I turn on the news and it's one disaster after another. Wars, diseases, corruption everywhere. It feels like God has stepped back and let evil run wild. How can I not be terrified when everything is spiraling?
"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea."
-- Psalm 46:1-2Enemy lie that circumstances determine God's sovereignty, making her trust based on visible chaos instead of invisible Throne
At 90+, she's seen more chaos than most, and current events feel unprecedented. Her physical vulnerability makes every threat feel personal and uncontrollable.
Thrown into a furnace heated SEVEN TIMES HOTTER than normal, tied up and certain to burn alive within seconds. Instead, they walked around FREE inside the fire with a FOURTH MAN (Jesus), came out without even the SMELL OF SMOKE, and the king who tried to kill them promoted them—chaos became a stage for God's glory.
I REFUSE the lie that chaos means God lost control! IT IS WRITTEN that He is my refuge and strength, a VERY PRESENT help in trouble, and I will NOT FEAR even if the earth itself is removed! God is not pacing heaven worried about headlines—He's SEATED on the Throne. IT IS WRITTEN in Isaiah 54:17 that NO weapon formed against me will prosper. I am covered by the BARAK covenant blessing, and the same God who made a highway through the Red Sea and walked with three men in the fire is walking WITH ME through every chaotic moment. I am not afraid because HE IS IN CONTROL!
The Father isn't asking you to make sense of the chaos—He's inviting you to REST in His presence in the middle of it. Like the three Hebrew boys who didn't burn because JESUS WAS IN THE FIRE WITH THEM, you're not navigating this alone, and what looks like destruction is actually the setup for the world to see that your God is UNSHAKEABLE and so are you in Him.
