"The Bible contradicts itself too much to be trusted as God's true Word."
How it sounds in your head: You've read it for decades and now you're seeing the problems - different genealogies, contradictory accounts, scientific impossibilities. Smart people don't believe fairy tales. Maybe you were naive all these years.
"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."
-- 2 Timothy 3:16Enemy magnifies apparent contradictions; world's academic pressure to choose intellect over faith.
Education and life experience have sharpened critical thinking. Apparent contradictions seem obvious now that you notice them, and admitting you were wrong feels like wasted decades.
Apollos was educated and eloquent but taught incompletely about Jesus, knowing only John's baptism. Priscilla and Aquilla privately corrected him, he received it humbly, and became a powerful apologist who 'vigorously refuted the Jews in public debate, proving from the Scriptures that Jesus was the Messiah.'
I REFUSE the lie that intellectual honesty requires abandoning Scripture. IT IS WRITTEN that all Scripture is God-breathed, and Jesus used it as the ultimate weapon against the enemy. My questions don't threaten God - He invented curiosity. IT IS WRITTEN in Isaiah 1:18, 'Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord.' He invites my mind to the table. I am under the BARAK blessing of Abraham, who believed God and it was counted as righteousness even when he didn't understand. Greater understanding is coming NOW because I'm connected to the Vine who is Truth Himself.
The Father isn't intimidated by your questions about His Word - He wrote it through flawed humans on purpose to show that His power perfects weakness. He's inviting you deeper into mystery, not away from relationship; your wrestling is evidence you still care, and He honors that.
