"Science has disproven the Bible. Faith is for people who don't understand evolution, cosmology, geology."
How it sounds in your head: I've read enough to know the universe is billions of years old, evolution has evidence, miracles violate natural law. How do I reconcile what I learned in faith with what science has discovered? Maybe faith is just pre-scientific thinking I should have outgrown.
"For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist."
-- Colossians 1:16-17False dichotomy that science and faith are opposed, when science reveals God's methods and Scripture reveals His purposes.
His generation watched science become culturally dominant and Christianity marginalized as anti-intellectual. Church leaders who feared science rather than engaging it left him with no framework to integrate both.
Job questioned God's justice with human logic for 37 chapters. God responded by showing him the complexity of creation—stars, weather, animals, cosmic forces—and Job realized his intellectual framework was too small for the God who makes sea monsters for fun.
I REFUSE the lie that science has disproven the God who invented science. IT IS WRITTEN that in Christ all things CONSIST—every atom, every law, every force is held together by Him right now. The same God who set planets in motion spoke to me personally, and no cosmology can explain that. Natural law describes God's normal operations; miracles reveal He's not bound by His own patterns. IT IS WRITTEN that the heavens declare the glory of God, and every scientific discovery reveals more complexity that demands a Designer. I don't have to choose between my mind and my faith—God gave me both, and both point to Him.
The Father isn't threatened by scientific discovery—He's the one hiding complexity in creation for scientists to find like Easter eggs. While you've been reconciling Genesis and geology, He's been preparing a resurrected body for you that will transcend every natural law you've studied.
