"Real Christians get healed instantly without needing ongoing treatment."
How it sounds in your head: You've been taking diabetes medication or using an inhaler for years. At church, they talk about people getting healed and never needing medicine again. You wonder why God hasn't done that for you yet. Maybe you're doing something wrong. Maybe you're not really saved.
"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
-- 2 Corinthians 12:9Religious teaching that true faith produces instant permanent healing, making chronic conditions evidence of spiritual deficiency.
Healing testimonies always seem to be dramatic one-time events. Your ongoing need for treatment feels like God is saying no to you specifically while saying yes to others.
Paul begged God three times to remove his 'thorn in the flesh.' God said NO - not because Paul lacked faith, but because His grace was sufficient and His strength perfect in Paul's weakness, instant acceptance of his condition.
I REFUSE the lie that ongoing treatment disqualifies me from God's favor. IT IS WRITTEN that God's grace is SUFFICIENT for me, even when healing looks different than expected. Paul raised the dead yet lived with an unhealed condition - his righteousness wasn't based on his body. I am blessed coming in and going out, blessed in my body whether healed instantly or sustained daily. IT IS WRITTEN that His strength is made PERFECT in weakness. I am not waiting for healing to be worthy - I am already the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
Your Father is running toward you saying 'You are not broken - you are MINE, and My grace is enough for EVERY day.' He's not waiting for your body to change to love you fully; He already does.
