"People with stronger faith get healed; I'm still sick because mine is weak"
How it sounds in your head: I see healing testimonies and wonder what they have that I don't. Maybe they pray more, believe harder, have less doubt. I'm doing something wrong spiritually or my body would be well by now.
"Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed."
-- 1 Peter 2:24Toxic healing theology that blames the sick for their condition, turning physical suffering into evidence of spiritual failure.
Others got healed and you didn't. The unspoken message in many churches: their faith worked, yours didn't. Your body becomes daily 'proof' of inadequate belief.
She suffered 12 YEARS, spent all her money on doctors who made her WORSE. If faith-strength determined healing, why did she wait 12 years? The moment she touched Jesus' garment, she was IMMEDIATELY healed. The timing wasn't about her finally getting faith right - it was about ENCOUNTERING HIM.
I REFUSE the lie that sickness proves faith failure. IT IS WRITTEN that by His stripes I WAS healed - past tense, finished work. My body's current state doesn't measure my spiritual position. The woman with the issue of blood suffered 12 YEARS before her moment - the delay wasn't punishment. IT IS WRITTEN there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. The BARAK protected Abraham through lies, Jacob through deception, David through adultery and murder. I am ALREADY blessed with every spiritual blessing. My Father doesn't withhold healing as punishment for imperfect faith. The prodigal got the robe while still covered in pig filth.
Your Father doesn't rank faith like a competition where strong believers get healed first. The woman who suffered 12 years wasn't being punished - she was on her way to a testimony. Jesus never blamed the sick for their condition, only the religious who did.
