"People will always see me as the addict—I can't escape my reputation."
How it sounds in your head: Even if I change, they'll never forget what I was. I'll always be labeled. My past defines how they see me forever.
"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death."
-- Revelation 12:11Enemy—uses past reputation to imprison identity, denying power of testimony and transformation.
Kids at school, family members, church people—they all remember. She sees it in their eyes, the doubt, the pity, the whispers. Feels like no matter how much she changes, the label is tattooed on her forehead.
Murdered Christians, dragged families to prison, breathed threats—the church FEARED him. One encounter with Jesus and within DAYS he's preaching in synagogues, and those who knew his reputation were ASTONISHED—'Isn't this the man who destroyed those who called on this name?' His past became his PLATFORM.
I REFUSE the lie that my reputation is ruined forever. IT IS WRITTEN that I overcome by the BLOOD OF THE LAMB and the WORD OF MY TESTIMONY. My past is not a scarlet letter; it's my TESTIMONY of God's transforming power. Old things have PASSED AWAY—I am a NEW CREATION. IT IS WRITTEN that what people meant for evil, God uses for GOOD. Paul murdered Christians and became the greatest apostle. My past is my PLATFORM, not my prison. The BARAK blessing is mine—favor and honor REPLACE shame.
The Father doesn't see your past as a stain to hide—He sees it as a TESTIMONY to display His glory. Paul went from murdering Christians to writing half the New Testament. Your reputation in man's eyes doesn't limit God's ability to use your story to set captives FREE.
