"Pastors are just using tithing sermons to fund their comfortable lifestyles."
How it sounds in your head: You've seen the scandals — private jets, mansions, luxury cars. These guys are getting rich off gullible people's guilt. Your money would go further helping your grandkids' college fund than padding some preacher's wallet. You've been around long enough to see the con.
"Even so the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should live from the gospel."
-- 1 Corinthians 9:14Source: Enemy using legitimate scandals to poison all generosity, blocking covenant flow through cynicism.
You've watched televangelists fall, seen church financial mismanagement, and know several pastors who live better than their congregations. The pattern feels undeniable and your age gives you historical perspective on religious corruption.
They gave financially to Paul's ministry even when they themselves were in deep poverty and affliction. Paul said their giving was credited to THEIR account, and God supplied ALL their needs according to His riches — their blessing wasn't dependent on Paul's perfection.
I REFUSE the lie that pastoral corruption cancels my covenant responsibility or that human failure blocks divine blessing. IT IS WRITTEN that God commanded support for gospel workers, and IT IS WRITTEN that my giving is a fragrant offering to GOD, not to men (Philippians 4:18). I give to the Lord, not to personalities. The BARAK blessing flows through my obedience, not through pastoral perfection. Their account is with God; my blessing is through covenant. I will not let cynicism rob me of multiplication. My generosity is between me and heaven.
Your Father isn't asking you to fund corruption — He's asking you to trust HIM with your obedience while HE handles others' accounts. He sees your heart and multiplies your faithfulness regardless of human failure, and the harvest from your seed is determined by HIS character, not theirs.
