"Pain medication is my only realistic hope for relief."
How it sounds in your head: The prescriptions are what keep me functional. Without them I couldn't get out of bed. Trusting God is nice theology, but pills are what actually work. I've prayed and still hurt, so medication is the real answer.
"If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you."
-- Exodus 15:26World system makes pharmaceuticals the savior, replacing faith in the Great Physician with faith in chemistry.
Pain meds provide measurable, immediate relief that prayer hasn't seemed to match. Medical professionals present medication as the only evidence-based solution.
Given a death sentence by the prophet, Hezekiah prayed and God said 'I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will heal you.' God added fifteen years to his life—instant reversal of terminal diagnosis.
I REFUSE the lie that medication is my only hope. IT IS WRITTEN in Exodus 15:26 that HE is Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who HEALS me. Pills may provide temporary relief, but HE is my ultimate source. IT IS WRITTEN that the woman spent all on physicians and grew worse until Jesus healed her INSTANTLY. I don't despise medicine, but I don't worship it either. My body responds to the voice of the Creator before it responds to chemistry. I am covered by the BARAK—blessed in my body, blessed in my health, healed by His stripes.
The Father isn't offended that you've taken medication—He's just waiting for you to look UP and see that what pills can't finish, His blood already completed. He's not mad you used the boat; He's just inviting you to walk on water.
