"Our infertility was a sign we weren't meant to be parents."
How it sounds in your head: We tried for years. Nothing. Maybe God was saying we weren't cut out for it—weren't holy enough, patient enough, worthy enough. Maybe infertility was His way of closing a door we had no business walking through.
"Then they rose early in the morning and worshiped before the LORD, and returned and came to their house at Ramah. And Elkanah knew Hannah his wife, and the LORD remembered her. So it came to pass in the process of time that Hannah conceived and bore a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, 'Because I have asked for him from the LORD.'"
-- 1 Samuel 1:19-20Religious lie that infertility is God's 'no' rather than the enemy's attack, turning medical struggle into a referendum on your calling and worthiness.
Every failed cycle, every negative test, every baby shower invitation felt like confirmation—God was saying no. The silence felt like an answer.
Hannah was barren, mocked by her husband's other wife, weeping in the temple. She prayed one prayer of desperation, and God 'remembered her'—she conceived Samuel immediately, who became one of Israel's greatest prophets.
I REFUSE the lie that our infertility was God saying we're not meant to be parents. IT IS WRITTEN that Hannah was barren until the LORD remembered her, and she bore Samuel—one prayer, one encounter, instant breakthrough. Infertility is the enemy's attack, not the Father's verdict. IT IS WRITTEN in Deuteronomy 28:4 that the fruit of my body is BLESSED as part of the BARAK covenant. My calling to parent is not determined by medical struggle but by covenant promise. I am Abraham's seed, and my body is blessed. I REJECT barrenness and RECEIVE the blessing of fruitfulness. God calls me FRUITFUL.
The Father is not using infertility to tell you no. He's the God who remembers, who opens wombs, who turns barrenness into fruitfulness. He runs toward you with the promise, not away from you with a closed door.
