"Other mothers' prayers get answered, but mine don't seem to matter to God."
How it sounds in your head: You see Facebook posts—'My prodigal came home!'—and feel invisible. You've prayed just as long, just as hard. Their kids return in months; yours has been gone for years. Maybe God plays favorites. Maybe your prayers just don't carry the same weight. You're clearly not as important to Him as those other mothers.
"For I am the LORD, I do not change; therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob."
-- Malachi 3:6Source: Comparison culture combined with enemy accusation that you're less valued by God than others whose prayers appear answered faster.
You witness answered prayers for others while your situation remains unchanged, making you feel like a second-tier believer whose requests matter less to God. The contrast between their testimonies and your silence feels like divine rejection.
Jesus told of a widow who kept coming to an unjust judge who didn't care about her—yet BECAUSE of her persistence, he gave her justice. Jesus' point: if an evil judge responds to persistence, how much MORE will your loving Father respond to you? The delay doesn't mean He doesn't care; it means the answer is CERTAIN.
I REFUSE the lie that God answers others but overlooks me. IT IS WRITTEN that the Lord does not change—He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. What He does for one, He does for all. My prayers carry the SAME weight as any other believer's because I have the SAME access through Jesus' blood. IT IS WRITTEN in Acts 10:34 that God shows no partiality. I am not second-tier or less important. My child's breakthrough is not less certain—it's still being written, and the testimony will be WORTH the wait. I will NOT compare timelines; I WILL trust His faithfulness.
The Father doesn't have a hierarchy of beloved children—you are just as cherished as the mother whose testimony you envy. He's not delaying because you matter less; He's positioning pieces in your child's story that will make the return even more powerful, and your wait is not wasted.
