"Nobody in my family goes to college—I'm not college material"
How it sounds in your head: We're the blue-collar family. The ones who work with our hands, not our brains. College is for other kinds of families. I'd be the first, and honestly, I'd probably fail anyway.
"Exalt her, and she will promote you; she will bring you to honor, when you embrace her."
-- Proverbs 4:8Class system and poverty spirit creating educational caste system that contradicts covenant wisdom and favor
You've never seen it modeled. No family photos in graduation gowns. Your relatives make jokes about 'book smart' people. It feels like a different species.
Slave with no formal Egyptian education, sitting in prison on false charges, family of shepherds (lowest class in Egypt). Pharaoh pulled him out of prison and INSTANTLY made him second-in-command of the world's superpower because God gave him supernatural wisdom. No degree, no resume, no family connections—just God's favor.
I REFUSE the lie that education is for other kinds of families. IT IS WRITTEN that wisdom will PROMOTE me and bring me to HONOR regardless of my family's educational history. I am not limited by what my relatives did or didn't do. God gives KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL to those who ask, and James 1:5 says He gives GENEROUSLY without reproach. IT IS WRITTEN in Deuteronomy 28:13 that I am the HEAD and not the tail—that includes academically. The BARAK blessing gives me FAVOR in every room I enter, including classrooms. I have the MIND OF CHRIST, and that's infinitely better than any family legacy. I am not 'college material'—I am SON material, and sons have unlimited access to the Father's wisdom.
The Father doesn't look at your family tree and calculate your academic potential. He looks at you and says, 'You have My mind, My wisdom, My favor—you're qualified because you're MINE, not because of who came before you.'
