"No one would want a woman my age—I'm invisible to the world now."
How it sounds in your head: You walk into a room and feel like no one sees you. Younger women get attention, smiles, help offered. You feel like a ghost, irrelevant, passed over. The world has decided you don't matter anymore, and dating feels laughable when you can't even get a second glance at the grocery store.
"But the LORD said to Samuel, 'Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.'"
-- 1 Samuel 16:7World's worship of youth and devaluation of age, particularly older women.
Advertisers don't target you. Fashion ignores you. Culture celebrates the young and forgets the aged. The invisibility is not imagined—it's structural, systemic, and it feels permanent.
Hagar was a used, discarded, runaway slave—invisible to everyone, expendable, forgotten. But God SAW her in the wilderness and she named Him 'El Roi'—the God Who SEES Me. Not the God who tolerates or overlooks, but the God who SEES, PURSUES, and PROVIDES for the invisible.
I REFUSE the lie that I am invisible, irrelevant, or unseen because the world overlooks me. IT IS WRITTEN that man looks at outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the HEART—and He SEES me. I am not a ghost; I am BEHELD by the God of the universe. IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 139:1-3 that He has searched me and KNOWN me—He knows when I sit and when I rise, He perceives my thoughts from afar. I am NEVER invisible to Him. I am under the Abrahamic blessing, which means favor surrounds me like a shield, and the RIGHT eyes will see me—not the world's blind gaze but the eyes of those God ordains. The Father is not overlooking me—He's running toward me with VISIBILITY, VALUE, and the declaration that I am SEEN and CELEBRATED.
The Father doesn't see you as the world does—He sees you as a woman of VALUE, BEAUTY, and SIGNIFICANCE, and He's about to bring people into your life who see you through HIS eyes, not culture's cataracts. You are not invisible; you are TREASURED.
