"I'll never find someone who actually loves me for who I am."
How it sounds in your head: You've performed for attention your whole life—the funny friend, the pretty one, the spiritual one. Guys like the edited version of you on Instagram, but when they see the real you—anxious, messy, insecure—they leave. Maybe nobody will ever love the unfiltered version.
"The LORD your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing."
-- Zephaniah 3:17Source: trauma from conditional approval and the enemy convincing you that love is always earned through performance.
Every time you let someone see your struggles or bad days, they pull away. You feel like you have to maintain a persona just to keep people interested.
Leah was the unwanted wife—Jacob loved her sister Rachel, not her. She spent years trying to earn love through performance (having sons, naming them desperately). But God SAW her, opened her womb, and put her in the Messianic line. She didn't earn it by being prettier or more loved—God chose her anyway.
I REFUSE the lie that I have to perform to be loved or that nobody will love the real me. IT IS WRITTEN that God rejoices over me with singing—not the edited version, but the actual me. I am not too much or not enough. The BARAK blessing of favor is on my life by covenant, not by how well I perform. IT IS WRITTEN that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I am not auditioning for love. I am already loved by the God who knows every anxious thought and still calls me His masterpiece.
The Father isn't waiting for you to get it together before He delights in you. He's already singing over the real you—the 2am anxiety, the insecure thoughts, all of it. He loves you unfiltered, and He'll bring someone who does too.
