"My trauma means I'll never be whole enough to be fully loved"
How it sounds in your head: There are parts of me that are just broken. I flinch at the wrong times, shut down when I should open up. I feel like damaged goods that someone might tolerate but never fully embrace. Who wants to sign up for all this baggage?
"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."
-- Psalm 147:3Source: Trauma that convinced her she's fundamentally broken, reinforced by a world that treats trauma survivors as 'damaged' rather than overcomers.
She literally experiences trauma responses that affect her relationships—physical reactions, emotional walls, triggers she can't always control. The evidence of 'not being normal' feels overwhelming and permanent.
Mephibosheth was dropped as a child, permanently crippled, hiding in fear as the grandson of a dead king. David sought him out, restored ALL of Saul's land to him, and made him eat at the king's table DAILY for life—treated as a son despite his disability. Full acceptance, zero process.
I REFUSE the lie that my trauma makes me too broken to be fully loved. IT IS WRITTEN that God HEALS the brokenhearted and binds up wounds—I am not stuck in brokenness, I am in the process of HEALING. I am not damaged goods; I am a daughter being RESTORED by a perfect Father. IT IS WRITTEN in Ephesians 5:27 that Christ presents the church to Himself without spot or wrinkle—WHOLE and COMPLETE. My trauma is not my identity; Christ IN me is my identity. The BARAK blessing includes being fully known and fully loved. I am WORTHY of complete love because HE made me worthy.
The Father isn't looking at your trauma and calculating your capacity to be loved—He's already fully embracing you, triggers and all, calling you WHOLE in His sight. He's not waiting for you to heal to love you; His love IS what's healing you.
