"My prayers don't matter because I'm just one person and God has bigger things to handle."
How it sounds in your head: Look at the world—wars, disasters, millions suffering. Your little request for help with bills or health or loneliness must seem trivial to God. He's got nations to run. You're just one old man with small problems.
"Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father's will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows."
-- Matthew 10:29-31World's scarcity thinking applied to an infinite God, as if His attention is a limited resource divided among billions.
When you see global catastrophes on the news and then look at your checkbook or medical bills, your problems feel embarrassingly small by comparison.
Runaway pregnant slave girl in the desert, nobody important, no political power, completely alone. God appeared to HER personally, spoke to HER, gave HER promises—and she said, 'You are the God who sees me.' One dismissed slave mattered enough for divine visitation.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm too small for God's attention. IT IS WRITTEN: He numbers the hairs on my head and tracks every sparrow—I am of MORE value than many sparrows. I am not an inconvenience; I am His beloved son. Hagar the slave got a personal visitation—I am more than a slave; I am an HEIR. IT IS WRITTEN: I can cast ALL my care on Him because He cares for me. My Father doesn't triage His love or ration His attention. He is infinite. My 'small' problems are His delight to solve because I matter to Him.
Your Father doesn't have a cosmic triage system where your needs get bumped for more 'important' issues—He's infinite, and you have His FULL attention right now, just like every sparrow does. You're not an interruption; you're His priority.
