"My pain is a sign that God can't use me until I'm healed."
How it sounds in your head: How can God use me like this? I'm too limited, too unreliable, too broken. I can't serve consistently. I can't commit to things because I don't know how I'll feel. I'm benched until I'm better.
"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.'"
-- 2 Corinthians 12:9Religious teaching that ministry requires perfection, denying God's power made perfect in weakness.
Physical limitations create real obstacles to traditional service. Church culture often celebrates strength and availability, making weakness feel disqualifying.
Wrestled with God all night, hip dislocated, left LIMPING. But in that wrestling he received a new name—Israel—and a blessing. His limp became his testimony, his weakness the mark of encountering God.
I REFUSE the lie that God can't use me until I'm healed. IT IS WRITTEN that His strength is made PERFECT in my weakness—not in spite of it but THROUGH it. Jacob limped away from his encounter with God but carried a new name and blessing. Paul's thorn didn't disqualify him from writing Scripture. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, and my usefulness isn't based on my physical capacity but on His power working through me. IT IS WRITTEN that we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works. I was created for purpose, and pain doesn't disqualify me.
The Father isn't waiting for you to be strong enough or healed enough to use you. He's using you RIGHT NOW in your weakness, and your limp is actually the credentials that make your testimony powerful. He doesn't need your strength—He needs your willingness, and He'll supply everything else.
