"My needs are too much for my family to handle. I'm exhausting everyone."
How it sounds in your head: You see how tired they look when they visit. Your medication list alone takes ten minutes to explain. Every phone call is another problem. They're counting down until you die so they can have their lives back.
"Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you."
-- Isaiah 46:4Enemy accusation using increased dependence as evidence you're a burden instead of a blessing
His body requires help he never needed before—walkers, medications, doctor appointments, bathroom assistance. His children's exhausted faces and shortened visits confirm he's overwhelming them.
At 80 years old, Barzillai told David he was too old to enjoy the palace—couldn't taste food, hear music, or be useful. David didn't dismiss him as too much but BLESSED him richly and gave him honor for simply existing in his old age.
I REFUSE the lie that my needs exhaust the Father or make me too much. IT IS WRITTEN that even to gray hairs He will CARRY me—I am not too heavy for Him. My increasing needs don't decrease His delight. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed coming in and going out, in strength and in weakness, in youth and in old age. The BARAK blessing protects me even when I need help with everything. I am NOT a burden—I am beloved, carried, and delighted in. The Father runs toward me with EVERY need, not away.
The Father sees your walker, your medication list, your nighttime bathroom needs—and He's not tired. He's carrying YOU while supplying strength to those who help you, running toward you with fresh mercy every single morning you wake up.
