"My needs are too high and I should require less from people"
How it sounds in your head: Every time I express what I need, I feel like I'm being demanding. My friends say I'm 'high maintenance.' My mom keeps telling me I expect too much. Maybe if I could just need less, people would actually stay.
"And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
-- Philippians 4:19Enemy's strategy to isolate believers by making legitimate needs feel like burdens so they stop asking and start withering
She's watched people pull away every time she's vulnerable about needs, and she's been called 'needy' enough times that she's starting to believe it. Independence is praised while interdependence is mocked.
She had massive needs - gave her last two coins while rich people gave from surplus. Jesus didn't tell her to need less or budget better; He honored her and used her as the example of what the kingdom looks like.
I REFUSE the lie that my needs are too much. IT IS WRITTEN that God supplies ALL my needs according to HIS riches in glory, not according to how small I can make myself. The BARAK blessing means I am blessed coming in and going out, blessed in my storehouses, and the Lord COMMANDS blessing on everything I put my hand to. IT IS WRITTEN that I can cast ALL my anxiety on Him because He cares for me. I am not high maintenance - I am a daughter with a Father who owns cattle on a thousand hills. My needs give Him opportunity to show His abundance.
The Father is not annoyed by your needs - He's been preparing provision before you even recognized the need. He's the God who provided manna daily, who multiplied oil for a widow's debt, who gave water from a rock, and He delights in meeting you exactly where you are.
