"My need for medication reveals hidden sin or lack of forgiveness blocking my healing."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe I haven't truly forgiven someone and that's why I'm still sick. Or there's some secret sin I haven't confessed that's blocking God's healing. My ongoing need for medication must mean I haven't dealt with something spiritually.
"And His disciples asked Him, saying, 'Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?' Jesus answered, 'Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.'"
-- John 9:2-3Religion: Karma-based theology that makes illness punishment for spiritual deficiency, creating endless introspective anxiety and false guilt.
Well-meaning people have suggested her condition is tied to unforgiveness or hidden sin. The fact that medication helps but doesn't 'cure' feels like evidence that there's a deeper spiritual blockage she hasn't resolved.
Job's friends insisted his suffering was divine punishment for hidden sin. God was ANGRY at them for misrepresenting Him and declared Job RIGHTEOUS. God restored Job's fortunes not after Job found hidden sin, but after Job prayed for his false accusers. The condition wasn't caused by Job's sin.
I REFUSE the lie that medication reveals hidden sin. IT IS WRITTEN that not all sickness is caused by sin, and IT IS WRITTEN that Job was righteous while suffering and his friends were WRONG. I am the righteousness of God in Christ—not by confession perfection but by blood coverage. There is NO condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. My medication is not evidence of spiritual blockage; it's evidence of biological reality. I am Abraham's seed, blessed by COVENANT not by sin management. I walk in the BARAK that protected liars, deceivers, and murderers—how much more does it cover me in Christ's better blood.
Your Father isn't withholding healing until you find the magic sin to confess. He's already dealt with your sin—past, present, future—at the cross. He's saying, 'Stop searching for problems I already solved. Your medication isn't Plan B for your failure. It's my provision for your biology.'
