"My kids are struggling because I'm not enough—not patient enough, present enough, spiritual enough."
How it sounds in your head: You see their anxiety, their defiance, their pain, and you know it's because you failed them. Better mothers would have prevented this. You're damaging them daily with your inadequacy.
"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
-- 2 Corinthians 12:9Religious performance pressure merged with cultural motherhood perfectionism to create impossible standards.
You read parenting books that promise formulas and your kids don't match the results, proving you're doing it wrong. Social media shows curated motherhood you can't achieve, and every therapist bill feels like evidence of your failure.
Had only three months with baby Moses before putting him in a basket and sending him to Pharaoh's daughter to raise. Mothered him briefly, released him completely, yet God used Moses to deliver a nation—proving God's call on your kids doesn't depend on your perfect execution.
I REFUSE the lie that my children's struggles are proof of my failure as a mother. IT IS WRITTEN that God's strength is made perfect in my weakness—my inadequacy is the EXACT place His power rests. I am a branch connected to the Vine; fruit comes from abiding, not striving. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed and my children are blessed under the BARAK covenant—the same blessing that protected Abraham's dysfunctional family through lies, deception, and murder. God is not waiting for me to get it right to move in my kids' lives. He is their perfect Father, and I am His beloved daughter doing her best.
The Father isn't grading your motherhood performance—He's flooding your weakness with His strength. He loves your kids more than you do, and His plans for them don't rise or fall on your perfect parenting.
