"My illness glorifies God by showing His sustaining grace."
How it sounds in your head: People watch you stay faithful while sick and say you're such a testimony. Maybe God gets more glory from you enduring than from you being healed. Sounds selfless.
"When Jesus heard that, He said, 'This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.'"
-- John 11:4Source: Religion prioritizing testimony of endurance over testimony of POWER, making God's glory dependent on your continued sickness instead of His healing nature.
It makes you feel spiritually significant and removes the tension of unanswered healing prayers. Easier to accept sickness as God's showcased grace than to keep contending for breakthrough.
Blind from BIRTH—disciples asked if sin caused it, Jesus said 'so that works of God should be revealed in him,' then IMMEDIATELY healed him. Glory came through HEALING, not through lifetime blindness endured faithfully.
I REFUSE the lie that my Father gets more glory from my sickness than my healing. IT IS WRITTEN that when Jesus encountered sickness 'for God's glory,' He RESURRECTED the dead—John 11:4—glory came through POWER, not through sustained illness. Jesus didn't leave the blind man blind to testify about coping with disability; He HEALED him to reveal God's works. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus went about doing GOOD and HEALING ALL oppressed by the devil—Acts 10:38. My healing is a sign and wonder that points to the Father's goodness. I am blessed in my body, the temple of the Holy Spirit. The BARAK blessing is mine by covenant—the same blessing that made Isaac WEALTHY after he LIED. Sickness, you glorify NOTHING. Health glorifies the HEALER.
Your Father doesn't need you sick to prove He's good—He proves He's good BY HEALING YOU. He gets more glory from resurrection than from sustained death, more glory from sight than from faithful blindness.
