"My healing would take away my testimony of suffering and make me less relatable."
How it sounds in your head: People listen when I share about walking through pain. I've ministered to so many from this place of brokenness. If I were healed, would I lose my platform? Would I lose my purpose?
"He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions."
-- Psalm 107:20Religious culture elevates suffering as superior ministry qualification, making people subconsciously cling to sickness to maintain identity and influence.
When your most meaningful connections and ministry opportunities have come through shared suffering, healing feels like it would END your usefulness rather than EXPAND it. The suffering-saint identity feels safer than the healed-warrior identity.
Blind beggar crying out, crowd told him to be quiet, he cried LOUDER. Jesus stopped, called him, asked what he wanted—'I want to SEE.' IMMEDIATELY received sight and followed Jesus on the road, a PUBLIC TESTIMONY.
I REFUSE the lie that healing would diminish my testimony. IT IS WRITTEN that He sent His word and HEALED them—my testimony is OF DELIVERANCE, not perpetual bondage. Like blind Bartimaeus, my story is 'I WAS blind, NOW I see,' not 'I'm still blind but peaceful.' IT IS WRITTEN that I am to DECLARE His works among the people—HEALING is the work, not accepting disease. My healed body becomes a BILLBOARD of His goodness, opening hearts that suffering stories couldn't reach. I receive complete healing NOW, and my latter testimony will be GREATER than my former because it demonstrates His POWER, not just His presence in pain. I am healed, whole, a LIVING PROOF of His finished work.
The Father isn't keeping you sick to maintain your ministry—He wants to HEAL you and give you a testimony that PROVES His power instead of just describing His comfort. Your healed life will reach multitudes your suffering life never could.
