"My financial mistakes prove I'm not qualified to receive the Deuteronomy 28 blessings."
How it sounds in your head: Those blessings are for the obedient who carefully follow all His commands. You didn't. You're under the curses section, not the blessings section. You forfeited blessing through disobedience.
"And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."
-- Galatians 3:29Religious legalism teaching that Deuteronomy 28 blessings require law-keeping rather than being accessed through Christ's redemption.
Deuteronomy 28:15 says curses come 'if you do not obey.' Her financial disasters mirror those curses perfectly. The chapter seems to clearly divide people into blessed obedient and cursed disobedient.
Abraham lied to Pharaoh, putting Sarah in his harem to save his own skin—pure cowardice and sin. God plagued PHARAOH instead of Abraham and Abraham left RICHER—the BARAK blessing protected a liar and punished the innocent king.
I REFUSE the lie that my mistakes disqualify me from Deuteronomy 28 blessings. IT IS WRITTEN that I AM Abraham's seed through Christ, making me an heir according to PROMISE. Christ took the curse so I receive the blessing—not by my obedience but by HIS finished work. Abraham lied and was blessed. Isaac deceived and was blessed. IT IS WRITTEN in Galatians 3:13 that Christ redeemed me from the curse. I am blessed in the city and in the field, coming in and going out, above only and not beneath.
Your Father didn't give Abraham the BARAK because he was obedient—he lied repeatedly and was blessed anyway because covenant is based on GOD'S faithfulness, not man's. You're in better covenant through Christ's blood, and every Deuteronomy 28 blessing is already yours.
