"My financial dependence on others makes me too much of a burden."
How it sounds in your head: You can't afford your own care anymore. Your savings are gone. Someone else is paying for your medications, your facility, your needs. You worked your whole life to provide and now you're TAKING. You're a financial drain on the people you wanted to leave an inheritance.
"I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread."
-- Psalm 37:25Enemy using financial dependence as shame tool instead of recognizing provision flows from covenant blessing
His savings couldn't stretch to cover decades of retirement and medical costs. He's receiving financial help from family or government. The provider role he held for 60+ years has reversed.
She was down to her LAST meal—one handful of flour, little oil, preparing to eat and die. Elijah asked her to feed HIM first (seeming to take MORE). She obeyed and INSTANTLY her flour and oil never ran out—sustained through THREE YEARS of famine. Her lack became limitless supply.
I REFUSE the lie that financial dependence makes me a burden. IT IS WRITTEN that the righteous are NEVER forsaken—provision comes even in old age. My bank account doesn't determine God's ability to provide. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed in my storehouses and the Lord commands blessing on ALL that I set my hand to—including RECEIVING help. The BARAK blessing covered Abraham even when he had nothing in Egypt—God's provision flows from COVENANT, not my savings. I am not a drain. I am SUPPLIED FOR. Financial help flowing to me is God's provision in action.
The Father isn't concerned about your bank balance—He owns the cattle on a thousand hills. He's running toward you saying 'I've been providing for you for 85 years through every season—this one is no different. My supply doesn't run out when yours does.'
