"My family's generational wealth destroyed everyone, so poverty is actually safer."

How it sounds in your head: You've watched money ruin your family—addictions, divorces, entitled kids, lawsuits, betrayals. Your grandfather built it, your father fought over it, your siblings are still destroying each other for it. Maybe the best thing that happened was being left out. At least you're not corrupted by it like they are.

1 Timothy 6:17

"Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy."

-- 1 Timothy 6:17
Enemy whispers: 'Wealth will corrupt you like it corrupted them.' BUT IT IS WRITTEN: 1 Timothy 6:17 - 'God gives us RICHLY ALL THINGS TO ENJOY.' The problem was never the money—it was trusting in it instead of God. IT IS WRITTEN that Abraham was 'very rich in livestock, silver and gold' (Genesis 13:2) and walked with God intimately. Job was the wealthiest man in the East and 'blameless and upright.' Solomon received wealth he didn't even ask for. The BARAK blessing includes material abundance—Deuteronomy 28:11 says 'The Lord will grant you abundant prosperity.' Poverty is not holiness; it's the CURSE Jesus took on the cross.
Quick Truth: LIE: Wealth destroys. TRUTH: Abraham was very rich and walked with God—trust determines fruit, not amount. Gen 13:2

Enemy twisting real trauma into a vow of poverty disguised as wisdom, making you fear the very blessing God wants to give.

Why this feels true:

The evidence is undeniable—you can name specific people whose lives were destroyed by family money. The inheritance brought out the absolute worst in people you loved, and you have the therapy bills to prove it.

Genesis 13:2, 14:22-23
Abraham

Abraham was extremely wealthy—'very rich in livestock, silver and gold'—yet refused to take even a thread from the king of Sodom, saying 'I have raised my hand to the Lord.' His wealth didn't corrupt him because his TRUST was in God, not riches. He walked intimately with God while being materially blessed.

Speak this out loud

I REFUSE the lie that poverty is safer than the blessing God promises. IT IS WRITTEN that my Father gives me richly all things to ENJOY—not to fear, not to be corrupted by, but to steward in His presence. The destruction in my family came from trusting riches instead of God, not from the riches themselves. IT IS WRITTEN in Galatians 3:14 that the blessing of Abraham is mine through Christ—Abraham was wealthy AND walked with God. I break every vow of poverty I made in reaction to family trauma. The BARAK blessing on my life includes Deuteronomy 28:11—'abundant prosperity in the fruit of my body, livestock and crops.' I receive wealth WITH wisdom, abundance WITH peace, provision WITH purpose. My connection to the Vine produces good fruit automatically.

But God actually:

Your Father isn't offering you the same dysfunctional relationship with money your family had—He's offering you HIS resources with HIS character. You're not your grandfather or your father; you're a branch connected to Jesus, and that connection makes good fruit automatic, including financial blessing without corruption.
