"My family doesn't know how to manage money, and neither will I"
How it sounds in your head: Nobody in my family knows about investing or building wealth. We don't have those skills. Even if money came, we'd probably blow it like lottery winners. Some people are money-smart, and we're just not.
"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him."
-- James 1:5Enemy + learned helplessness: Satan uses observed financial mismanagement to create belief that wisdom is genetic instead of given by God
You've watched family members make poor money choices, maybe blow tax returns on junk, carry credit card debt. Your brain concludes financial wisdom is inherited skill rather than imparted gift, making you feel doomed to repeat patterns.
Solomon asked for wisdom, and God gave him not only SUPERNATURAL WISDOM but also riches and honor he DIDN'T ask for - so much wealth that silver was as common as stones in Jerusalem. He went from needing wisdom to being the wisest AND richest king alive in ONE ENCOUNTER with God.
I REFUSE the lie that financial ignorance is my family legacy. IT IS WRITTEN that if I lack wisdom, I ask God who gives LIBERALLY to all (James 1:5). Financial wisdom isn't genetic - it's GIVEN by the Spirit who lives IN ME. The same God who gave Solomon supernatural wealth management skills, who made teenage Daniel ruler over Babylon's treasury, who took slave Joseph and made him Egypt's CFO, gives ME wisdom NOW. IT IS WRITTEN that I have the MIND OF CHRIST (1 Cor 2:16). I don't need generational knowledge - I have access to DIVINE INTELLIGENCE. The Holy Spirit who orchestrates galaxies can certainly teach me about money. I'm Abraham's seed through Jesus (Gal 3:29), which means the barak blessing includes wisdom to STEWARD the wealth God commands on my storehouses. I receive supernatural financial wisdom right NOW, not because I earned it, but because I ASKED and He gives LIBERALLY.
Your Father isn't worried about your family's financial IQ - He's running toward you with the MIND OF CHRIST, ready to download supernatural wisdom the moment you ask. He didn't make you figure it out alone; He PUT HIS SPIRIT IN YOU who knows exactly how to manage every penny.
