"I need to wait until I'm financially stable before God can really use me."
How it sounds in your head: You have dreams of missions, ministry, making a difference, but you also have zero money and probably student loans coming. Everyone says 'be practical,' 'get stable first,' 'you can serve God once you have your finances together.' It sounds responsible, but it feels like your purpose is on hold until you reach some financial milestone.
"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."
-- Matthew 6:33Religious lie that God's use of you depends on your financial readiness, when Scripture shows He uses the broke and they become blessed in the process.
You've been taught to be 'responsible' and not 'step out in foolishness,' and waiting until you're stable sounds wise. Plus you've seen people who pursued ministry and ended up broke, which seems to confirm you need money first.
She was down to her last meal—literally preparing to eat and die—when Elijah showed up asking for bread FIRST. She had every 'responsible' reason to say 'let me get stable first.' Instead she gave from her lack, and her oil and flour never ran out through the entire famine. Her provision came THROUGH obedience, not before it.
I REFUSE the lie that I need financial stability before I can fully follow God. IT IS WRITTEN to seek FIRST His kingdom and everything else gets added. My obedience isn't on hold until my bank account reaches some number. IT IS WRITTEN that God supplies all my need according to HIS riches in glory. I am not waiting for provision to obey—provision is chasing me BECAUSE I obey. The BARAK that sustained Israel in the wilderness with daily manna, that kept the widow's oil flowing, that multiplied five loaves for thousands—that's my inheritance. I am stepping into my purpose NOW, and every resource I need is running to meet me. Financial stability doesn't qualify me—Jesus does.
Your Father isn't waiting for you to get your finances together before He uses you—He's already calling you into purpose and running toward you with provision for the journey. He's not asking you to be stable first; He's inviting you to step out, and He'll make the oil flow as you pour.
