Too Much
"My expectations are too high and I need to accept less from people and life."

How it sounds in your head: You expect too much from your kids, your wife, your church. People tell you to 'lower your standards.' Maybe at this age, you should just be grateful for whatever you get instead of demanding excellence.

Ephesians 3:20

"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us."

-- Ephesians 3:20
Enemy whispers: 'Lower your expectations—you're asking too much.' BUT IT IS WRITTEN: Ephesians 3:20 - God does 'EXCEEDINGLY ABUNDANTLY above all that we ask or think.' Your expectations aren't too high—they're too SMALL. God doesn't do mediocre. The Father isn't waiting for you to settle; He's preparing ABUNDANCE that dwarfs your best imagination.
Quick Truth: LIE: Expect less. TRUTH: God does EXCEEDINGLY ABUNDANTLY. (Eph 3:20)

World system using age as excuse to settle for mediocrity and abandon God-given vision.

Why this feels true:

You've been disappointed repeatedly by people not following through. Your standards for yourself and others haven't changed, but everyone else seems to have lowered theirs. You're told you're 'out of touch' or 'too demanding' for expecting what used to be normal.

Genesis 17:17
Abraham

At 100 years old, Abraham was told he'd father nations through a son not yet born to his 90-year-old wife. The expectation was IMPOSSIBLE—and God delivered EXACTLY that within one year, launching a nation that still exists today.

Speak this out loud

I REFUSE the lie that my expectations are too high. IT IS WRITTEN that God does EXCEEDINGLY ABUNDANTLY above all I ask or think—my problem is asking too LITTLE, not too much. I will not settle for mediocrity to make others comfortable. IT IS WRITTEN that Abraham at 100 expected the IMPOSSIBLE and got it within a year. The BARAK blessing means I am ABOVE ONLY and not beneath—I expect EXCELLENCE because I serve an EXCELLENT God. My standards reflect HIS nature, not the world's decline.

But God actually:

The Father isn't telling you to lower your expectations—He's RAISING them, because He's about to do in your SIXTIES what you couldn't imagine in your THIRTIES. He's running toward you with MORE, not asking you to accept less.
