"My doubt killed the miracle I was supposed to receive."
How it sounds in your head: I believed for that job, that healing, that breakthrough - but then I had doubts. I wavered. I questioned. And now it's not happening. My doubt sabotaged God's plan. If I'd just held on to perfect belief, I'd have my answer by now.
"And on some have compassion, making a distinction; but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh."
-- Jude 1:22Source: Religion teaching that treats doubt like a deal-breaker, making you responsible for manufacturing doubt-free certainty to unlock God's movement.
You've heard James 1:6 weaponized - 'he who doubts is like a wave of the sea' - as if one moment of questioning cancels everything. When the breakthrough didn't come on your timeline, doubt seemed like the obvious culprit.
Thomas said he wouldn't believe unless he physically touched Jesus's wounds - hardcore doubt. Jesus didn't disqualify him or make him wait. He showed up specifically FOR Thomas and said 'reach your finger here.' Thomas went from doubter to declaring 'My Lord and my God!' in one encounter.
I REFUSE the lie that my doubt killed my miracle. IT IS WRITTEN that God has COMPASSION on those who doubt - He doesn't condemn them. My Father didn't withhold from Thomas, and He's not withholding from me. The BARAK blessing that protected Abraham when he LIED about Sarah protects me when I question. IT IS WRITTEN that nothing can separate me from the love of God - not doubt, not fear, not wavering. I am the righteousness of God in Christ, and His plans for me stand firm regardless of my emotional fluctuations. My miracle isn't contingent on my ability to maintain perfect certainty.
The Father isn't keeping score of your doubt moments like a cosmic referee. He's the God who met Thomas in his skepticism, who blessed Abraham through his lies, who kept Jacob despite his deception. Your wavering doesn't change His running toward you.
