"My dad's anger lives in me now and I'll rage at my own kids someday"
How it sounds in your head: I feel it building inside me. The same explosion I saw in him. When I get mad at my little brother, I hear my dad's voice coming out of my mouth. It's in my DNA.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
-- 2 Corinthians 5:17Enemy deception twisting biology into destiny, making you believe DNA determines character instead of covenant identity
You've seen yourself lose control the same way he did. The pattern feels biological, like brown eyes or height—something you inherit and can't change.
Son of godly King Hezekiah, but Manasseh became the MOST EVIL king in Judah's history—burned his own sons as offerings, filled Jerusalem with innocent blood. Yet when he repented in captivity, God INSTANTLY restored him, broke the pattern completely, and his grandson Josiah became one of the most righteous kings ever.
I REFUSE the lie that my father's patterns are my destiny. IT IS WRITTEN that I am a new creation in Christ—old things, including generational anger, have PASSED AWAY. I am not my father's son trying to do better; I am God's son filled with HIS nature. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives in me, and IT IS WRITTEN that the fruit of the Spirit is SELF-CONTROL, not inherited rage. I break agreement with the curse of repeated patterns. By the BARAK blessing of Abraham that came upon me through Christ, I am blessed with the Spirit, not cursed with my father's flesh. My future kids will know a father who reflects the Father who RAN to me covered in pig-pen shame and threw me a party.
The Father isn't waiting for you to prove you're different—He's already MADE you different at the cellular level. He sees you losing your temper and doesn't say 'Just like your dad,' He says 'That's not who you are anymore, son—let Me show you who I made you to be.'
