"My business failed because I was a woman trying to do what men do."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe I overstepped. Maybe I should have stayed in my lane. The church always said women should be nurturers, not entrepreneurs. I tried to be something I wasn't supposed to be.
"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus."
-- Galatians 3:28Religious sexism: limiting women's calling and gifting based on gender hierarchy instead of Spirit empowerment.
Decades of complementarian teaching made her second-guess her calling. Her generation faced severe gender barriers, and business failure feels like proof she violated divine order.
Lydia was a successful businesswoman selling purple cloth (expensive goods) when Paul met her. God opened her heart, she was baptized, and her business funded ministry—God blessed her entrepreneurship.
I REFUSE the lie that I failed because I'm a woman who dared to build something. IT IS WRITTEN: In Christ there is neither male nor female—I am ONE with Him, fully empowered. Deborah judged Israel. Lydia ran businesses. The Proverbs 31 woman was an entrepreneur who bought fields. IT IS WRITTEN: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me—no gender exclusions. My business may have failed, but my CALLING didn't. I am a daughter of the King, and the BARAK blessing flows through me regardless of industry or outcome.
The Father isn't reviewing gender roles. He's celebrating a daughter who stepped out in faith—and whether the business succeeded or failed, HE calls you BELOVED, GIFTED, and RIGHTEOUS by His doing.
