"I should have just gotten a safe corporate job like everyone else."
How it sounds in your head: My friends are pulling salaries, benefits, 401Ks. I'm explaining why my business tanked. Maybe playing it safe is actually wisdom, not cowardice. Maybe I was just arrogant to think I could build something.
"By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going."
-- Hebrews 11:8World system defining wisdom as risk-avoidance and corporate security as maturity.
His peers have paychecks and he has explanations. The contrast is daily. Social media shows their promotions while he's rebuilding from zero.
Peter had fished all night—his PROFESSION—and caught nothing. Jesus told him to try again in broad daylight (worst fishing time). Peter obeyed against logic, and caught so many fish the nets started breaking and boats started sinking—one obedient risk produced overwhelming abundance instantly.
I REFUSE the lie that safety equals wisdom. IT IS WRITTEN that Abraham left security without a map and God called it faith. The corporate ladder is not more anointed than the entrepreneur's leap—both need God, but only one gets called crazy for depending on Him. IT IS WRITTEN that the man who played it safe and buried his talent was rebuked, while risk-takers were rewarded. I carry the Abrahamic blessing that operates OUTSIDE conventional systems. The Father doesn't hand out participation trophies for clocking in—He celebrates sons who swing big, fall hard, and get back up.
The Father isn't disappointed you didn't take the safe route—He's PROUD you tried to build something. The prodigal didn't get a lecture on why he should have stayed home and managed the estate safely—he got a party for having the courage to come back after the big swing failed.
