"My body will never be what it was. I should've taken better care of myself."
How it sounds in your head: You see photos from your twenties and barely recognize yourself. Metabolism changed, body shifted, and you feel like you missed your chance to be 'that version' ever again. The mirror feels like evidence of time you can't get back.
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day."
-- 2 Corinthians 4:16Culture's worship of youth and the enemy's accusation that your body is your worth declining with age.
Your body HAS changed—hormonally, physically. The effort it takes now versus then feels insurmountable. You're grieving a version of yourself that feels gone forever.
Moses was 120 years old when he died—and Scripture says 'his eyes were not dim nor his natural vigor diminished.' God sustained his physical strength supernaturally for eighty years of ministry. Age didn't diminish him.
I REFUSE the lie that my body defines my worth or that I'm declining with age. IT IS WRITTEN that though the outward man perishes, the inward man is being RENEWED day by day. I am not less glorious—I am MORE. My beauty is unfading, my worth is intrinsic, my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. IT IS WRITTEN in Isaiah 40:31 that those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength, mount up with wings like eagles, run and not be weary. I am not fading—I am being TRANSFORMED from glory to glory. Moses' vigor didn't diminish at 120. Sarah was called beautiful at 90. My latter glory is GREATER. I am radiant because HE radiates through me.
The Father is running toward you, not seeing the body you're critiquing but the daughter He adores—more beautiful to Him now than ever. He's whispering, 'You're breathtaking,' while you're apologizing for aging.
