"My body is failing and I'm becoming a burden to everyone who has to care for me."
How it sounds in your head: You can't even get dressed without help anymore. Your kids have to rearrange their lives to take care of you. You've gone from the provider to the burden, and everyone would be better off if you just died.
"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
-- 2 Corinthians 12:9Religious curse teaching that physical weakness equals spiritual disqualification or divine punishment.
You need help with basic tasks you've done independently for 80+ years, and you see the exhaustion in your children's eyes. The indignity of needing assistance with intimate bodily functions makes you feel less than human.
Moses was 120 years old when he died, yet 'his eyes were not dim nor his natural vigor diminished.' God supernaturally sustained his strength to complete his assignment, proving physical age doesn't limit God's power through you.
I REFUSE the lie that my physical limitations make me a burden. IT IS WRITTEN that God's strength is made perfect in my weakness, and His power rests on me RIGHT NOW. My body may be failing, but my spirit is being renewed day by day. IT IS WRITTEN that even to gray hairs, God will carry ME—I'm not the burden, He delights to bear me up. I am blessed coming in and going out, and the BARAK blessing covers even my physical body. God's purposes for me are not diminished by my need for help.
The Father is carrying you with JOY, not obligation, and He's using your physical dependence to teach your family the ministry of presence and honor. He sees your body as a temporary tent while your true identity—seated with Christ in heavenly places—is completely whole and strong.
