"My body is declining and I wasted my physical prime"
How it sounds in your head: You should have competed, served in military, done the marathon when you could. Now your knees hurt, your metabolism slowed, you get injured easier. Your twenties body is gone. You wasted the years you could have been an athlete, warrior, physically dominant.
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day"
-- 2 Corinthians 4:16Source: world + pride - Culture worships youth and peak performance; enemy ties identity to physical prime to create despair in aging
He feels it - the recovery takes longer, the weight comes easier, the injuries linger. Younger guys at the gym lift more. His athletic window feels closed. Every ache reminds him of years he considers wasted.
Caleb was 85 years old and declared 'I am as STRONG today as I was at 40 when Moses sent me' and demanded the MOUNTAIN with giants on it. He took the mountain, defeated giants, claimed his inheritance at an age when most men retire.
I REFUSE the lie that my physical prime is wasted or that my best years are youth-dependent. IT IS WRITTEN that though outward man perishes, inward man is RENEWED daily. Moses was strongest at 80. Caleb conquered giants at 85. My effectiveness is not measured by physical peak but by ANOINTING, and that increases with age. IT IS WRITTEN that my youth is RENEWED like the eagle's - supernatural strength is not subject to biological decline. The BARAK blessing includes being blessed in my BODY. I am not declining - I am being REFINED for greater exploits that require wisdom, not just muscle.
The Father isn't mourning your twenties body - He's preparing you for forties authority. The prodigal returned WEAKER physically but the Father gave him the ROBE of authority. Your physical peak is not your spiritual ceiling. God's about to do through your PRESENCE what you couldn't do through your PERFORMANCE.
