"My best physical years are behind me; I peaked and now I'm in maintenance mode."
How it sounds in your head: I look at photos from 23 and think 'that was my peak.' Athletes peak in their twenties. Beauty peaks young. I had my moment and now it's about preserving what's left, slowing the decline. That's just reality.
"The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing."
-- Psalm 92:12-14World system lie teaching human value and vitality peak early and decline thereafter, contradicting the glory-to-glory, strength-to-strength promises of covenant.
Culture worships youth, celebrates 'peaks,' and obsesses over decline. Sports, beauty, energy - all discussed as peaking young. The narrative is everywhere and feels validated by biology.
Abraham was 99 years old - past any natural 'peak' - when God appeared and said 'I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will MULTIPLY you exceedingly.' At 100 he fathered Isaac. His greatest fruitfulness came AFTER 'peak' years, supernatural multiplication in old age.
I REFUSE the lie that I peaked early and am now declining. IT IS WRITTEN that I shall still bear fruit in old age, be FRESH and FLOURISHING - not fading, FLOURISHING. My path is like the sun that shines BRIGHTER unto the perfect day - increasing brightness, not dimming. Abraham multiplied exceedingly at 99 - supernatural fruitfulness AFTER natural peak. IT IS WRITTEN in Deuteronomy 28:13 'the LORD will make you the HEAD and not the tail; you shall be ABOVE ONLY' - that's present and FUTURE, not just past. My best is AHEAD, not behind.
While you've been mourning your 'peak,' the Father has been running toward you with MULTIPLICATION like He gave 99-year-old Abraham - your greatest fruitfulness, your brightest shining, your deepest flourishing is AHEAD of you, not behind. He sees you FRESH and FLOURISHING right now.
