"My belly fat disqualifies me from leadership and being taken seriously as a man."
How it sounds in your head: You're leading meetings, preaching, trying to influence, but all you can think about is your gut hanging over your belt. Who would listen to someone who can't even control their own body? You've lost the room before you open your mouth.
"But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence."
-- 1 Corinthians 1:27-29World system equating physical appearance with authority and credibility, especially targeting male leadership.
Studies show people judge competence by appearance. You've watched fitter men get promoted. Your clothes don't fit right. The mirror confirms the disqualification every morning.
Ehud was LEFT-HANDED (a disability in ancient culture) and apparently overweight enough that when he stabbed King Eglon, the fat closed over the blade and the handle went in after it. God used this physically 'disqualified' man to deliver Israel from 18 years of oppression.
I REFUSE the lie that my body shape disqualifies me from leadership or diminishes my authority. IT IS WRITTEN in 1 Corinthians 1:27 that God chooses the WEAK things to shame the mighty, ensuring glory goes to Him, not impressive flesh. My authority flows from anointing, not appearance. IT IS WRITTEN that I have treasure in an earthen vessel so the excellence of power is clearly God's, not mine. The BARAK blessing declares I am the HEAD and not the tail, ABOVE and not beneath, based on covenant promise, not physical condition. My calling and leadership are secure in Christ, and His strength is perfected in my weakness. I lead from identity, not image.
Your Father sees past your belly to your heart and has already given you the ring of authority, not because you've earned it with fitness, but because you're His son. He's not waiting for you to look the part—He's already cast you in the role.
