"Modern medicine replaces need for miraculous healing; expecting miracles shows ingratitude for doctors."
How it sounds in your head: I'm grateful for medical advances - maybe that's how God heals now, through medicine and surgery rather than supernatural intervention. Expecting a miracle when I have access to good healthcare feels almost ungrateful, like I'm dismissing the gift of modern medicine God provided through human wisdom.
"If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you."
-- Exodus 15:26Source: world - naturalistic worldview infiltrating church, reducing God to 'working through natural means' and eliminating expectation of supernatural.
Her doctors have helped manage her condition, and she feels guilty 'bothering God' for a miracle when science offers solutions. The either/or thinking makes her believe that using medicine means she can't also expect divine healing, as if they're mutually exclusive.
He had severe foot disease and 'did not seek the Lord, but the physicians' - and he died. Not because medicine is wrong, but because he relied ONLY on natural means, never seeking God. The lesson: use medicine, but don't make it your ultimate trust - God heals beyond and through medicine.
I REFUSE the lie that medicine replaces miraculous healing. IT IS WRITTEN: Exodus 15:26 - 'I am the LORD who heals you.' He is JEHOVAH RAPHA, my supernatural healer. Medicine is gift, not god. The woman with the issue spent everything on doctors with zero results; Jesus healed her instantly with one touch. IT IS WRITTEN: by His stripes I WAS healed - past tense, finished work. I am a branch in the Vine; divine health flows through me. The BARAK blessing includes supernatural provision AND protection - I receive both natural help and miraculous intervention. Jesus hasn't retired; He's still healing supernaturally NOW.
The Father isn't offended that you use medicine - He invented the plants and guided the research. But He's running toward you with BOTH medical wisdom AND supernatural power, because He's not limited to one method and delights in showing off His creativity in healing His daughters.
