"I've prayed for sleep so many times that God must be tired of hearing about it."
How it sounds in your head: It's the same request night after night. How many times can I ask before He's annoyed? Surely there are bigger problems in the world. My repeated cries about sleep must make Him weary of me—I sound like a broken record even to myself.
"And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?"
-- Luke 18:7Religion - projecting human impatience onto God, making Him exhausted by your need.
You've literally asked hundreds of times with no change. Repetition feels embarrassing. Even you are tired of your own requests—how could an infinite God not be tired of them too?
Bartimaeus cried out to Jesus. The crowd told him to shut up. He cried out LOUDER. Jesus didn't say 'I heard you the first time'—He STOPPED, called him over, and gave him exactly what he kept asking for. Persistence got rewarded, not rebuked.
I REFUSE the lie that God is tired of my repeated prayers for sleep. IT IS WRITTEN that His elect cry out to Him DAY AND NIGHT—repetition is the pattern of the chosen, not the annoying. Jesus taught we should ALWAYS pray and not lose heart. IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 145:18, 'The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth.' Every call is fresh to Him, every cry is welcomed. I cry out AGAIN for sleep, knowing He's not weary of me but moved by my persistence.
Your Father isn't counting your requests with annoyance—He's listening like the father of the prodigal who watched the road DAILY for his son's return, never tiring of looking. Like Bartimaeus crying louder, your persistence moves His heart, not His patience.
