"I've lived with this sexual sin so long, I'm beyond redemption now."
How it sounds in your head: I thought I'd outgrow these thoughts, these desires, these patterns. But here I am in my eighties, still struggling. If it hasn't changed by now, maybe God just gave up on me. Maybe some sins are too deep, too repeated, too shameful for even grace to reach.
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
-- 1 John 1:9Religious teaching that grace has a statute of limitations and that repeated sin proves you were never truly saved.
Decades of struggle with the same issue feels like evidence that transformation failed, and at this age, there seems to be no time left for change. The shame compounds with every year, making redemption feel increasingly impossible.
Caught in the ACT of adultery, dragged before Jesus by religious leaders demanding judgment—and Jesus dismissed every accuser and spoke zero condemnation. No recovery program, no accountability structure—just 'Neither do I condemn you' spoken INSTANTLY.
I REFUSE the lie that my long struggle puts me beyond redemption. IT IS WRITTEN that He is faithful to cleanse me from ALL unrighteousness—not most, not some, but ALL. My timeline doesn't limit His grace. I am not defined by decades of struggle but by the INSTANT the blood was applied. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. I stand in the BARAK blessing that covered Abraham's lies, Jacob's deceptions, and Judah's sexual sin—because the blessing was NEVER about my purity but about His COVENANT. I am CLEAN, not becoming clean.
The Father doesn't see decades of struggle—He sees the once-for-all sacrifice that settled your account completely. You're not 'too far gone'; you're standing in the same acceptance as the thief on the cross who had only minutes to live and zero time to 'fix' anything.
