"I've been texting sexual things with someone and I'm too dirty now for God to ever use me in ministry."
How it sounds in your head: You used to feel called to ministry, maybe even felt God's presence strongly, but now those messages on your phone make you feel disqualified. You can't imagine standing in front of people and leading worship or sharing your faith when you know what you've been typing in private. That calling feels like it belongs to a different, purer version of you that doesn't exist anymore.
"For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable."
-- Romans 11:29Religion teaching that usefulness to God is based on purity record rather than being connected to the Vine who produces fruit through imperfect branches.
You've heard stories of leaders who fell because of sexual sin, and you assume God's call requires a spotless record. The contrast between your public image and private conversations feels like hypocrisy that disqualifies you permanently.
She had five husbands and was living with a man who wasn't her husband, had such a sexual reputation she came to the well at noon to avoid other women. Jesus met her in her sexual sin, and she became an INSTANT evangelist—the whole town came to Jesus because of her testimony that same day.
I REFUSE the lie that my sexual conversations have disqualified me from God's calling. IT IS WRITTEN that the gifts and calling of God are IRREVOCABLE—God doesn't take back what He spoke over me because I stumbled. I am a branch connected to the Vine, and fruit comes from HIS life in me, not my perfect record. IT IS WRITTEN there is NO condemnation in Christ Jesus, which means this sin doesn't cancel my destiny or silence my voice. The woman at the well went from five failed relationships to city-wide evangelist in ONE afternoon. My mess is becoming my message, and my brokenness will reach people that perfection never could. I am called, chosen, and equipped TODAY.
Your Father didn't call you because you were pure—He called you because He saw who you'd become when His grace touched your brokenness. While you're convinced those messages disqualified you, He's already writing the testimony of how He restored a daughter who thought she was too dirty, and that story will set captives free.
