"I've given my whole life and I'm still broke—giving doesn't work."
How it sounds in your head: I've tithed faithfully for sixty years and I'm ending my life in near poverty. Where's the blessing? Where's the 'windows of heaven'? Either God lied or this whole thing is a scam. I'm too old to keep pretending.
"And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart."
-- Galatians 6:9Religion turned giving into a vending machine formula, and when formulas fail, faith shipwrecks—missing that blessing flows from relationship, not transaction.
He genuinely has given for decades and genuinely is struggling financially in old age. The disconnect between promise and experience feels like evidence that the whole system is false.
Job lost EVERYTHING and suffered for what felt like forever with no explanation. Then God restored him—the Lord gave Job TWICE as much as he had before, and his latter days were MORE blessed than his beginning, even in old age.
I REFUSE the lie that my giving was wasted. IT IS WRITTEN that I shall reap in DUE season if I do not lose heart, and THIS is my due season! Job's LATTER end was greater than his beginning. IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 92:14 that I shall still bear fruit in OLD AGE and be fresh and flourishing. My harvest isn't cancelled—it's ACCELERATING! Abraham waited decades but received nations. IT IS WRITTEN that the blessing of Abraham is mine through Christ Jesus. I am blessed under the BARAK covenant—blessed coming in and going out, the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath. My breakthrough isn't behind me—it's IN FRONT of me!
The Father isn't ignoring your decades of faithfulness—He's RUNNING toward you with double restoration like Job's, with harvest that makes the wait worth it. Like the prodigal who came home after YEARS in the pigpen, the Father has been watching for your vindication.
