"I've deconstructed too far. There's no coming back from the questions I've asked."
How it sounds in your head: He's questioned everything—hell, atonement, biblical authority, even the resurrection some days. The old certainties feel like a house he's burned down, and he's standing in the ashes wondering if he can rebuild. His small group would panic if they knew what he really thinks.
"Come, and let us return to the LORD; for He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up."
-- Hosea 6:1Enemy: convinces seekers that honest questioning is apostasy, that the line between examination and abandonment is thinner than it is.
He's watched deconstruction accounts on social media go from questioning purity culture to denying the deity of Christ in six months. He's terrified he's on that same trajectory and can't stop it.
John Mark abandoned Paul and Barnabas on a missionary journey—literally quit mid-mission. Paul refused to take him again. Years later, Paul wrote from prison: 'Get Mark and bring him with you, for he is USEFUL to me for ministry.' Complete restoration.
I REFUSE the lie that I've gone too far for restoration. IT IS WRITTEN: 'Return to the LORD; He has torn, but He will heal us.' The word RETURN proves there's always a way back. John Mark abandoned the mission and Paul later called him USEFUL for ministry—full circle redemption. IT IS WRITTEN that nothing can separate me from the love of God in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:38-39). My questions don't disqualify me; Peter questioned Jesus to His face and became the rock. I am Abraham's seed, the BARAK blessing chased down liars and deceivers with favor. God isn't waiting for me to have perfect doctrine—He's already running toward me with the robe and the ring. My deconstruction is becoming reconstruction in His hands.
The Father sees your questions as hunger, not betrayal. He's not keeping a tally of doubts waiting to lock you out—He's keeping the door open and the light on, scanning the horizon for your return, ready to throw the party.
