"I've lost my faith, and there's no way to get it back."
How it sounds in your head: I used to believe so easily as a kid. Now it's all gone and I don't know how to find it again. You can't force yourself to believe something. It's just... gone.
"Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, 'Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!'"
-- Mark 9:24Enemy defining faith as a feeling to maintain rather than a Person to receive and trust.
He remembers crying at church camp and feeling God's presence. Now he feels nothing during worship. Prayer feels like talking to the ceiling. The emotion is gone and he thinks that means faith is gone.
Elijah just won a massive victory over 450 prophets but crashed into suicidal depression, wanting to die and feeling utterly alone. God fed him, spoke gently, and restored his purpose instantly without condemnation.
I REFUSE the lie that lost feelings equal lost faith. IT IS WRITTEN that the father cried 'I believe; help my unbelief' and Jesus still moved. Faith is not a feeling I maintain but a Person I trust. I am BARAK BLESSED—the covenant doesn't fluctuate with my emotions. IT IS WRITTEN that Elijah crashed emotionally after a high and God gently restored him without shame. I receive faith as a gift, knowing the Father meets me in doubt, not just certainty.
The Father doesn't measure your faith by your feelings—He knows feelings lie. He's not waiting for you to feel something; He's already running toward you in your numbness.
