"I've been under attack so long, deliverance will never come."
How it sounds in your head: Decades of battling the same issues—anxiety, depression, that family curse. You've prayed, fasted, gone to every prayer meeting. If God was going to move, wouldn't He have done it by now? Maybe this is just your lot.
"Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the captives of the righteous be delivered? But thus says the LORD: Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible be delivered; for I will contend with him who contends with you, and I will save your children."
-- Isaiah 49:24-25Source: religion—teaching that deliverance is earned through enough prayer, enough fasting, enough time in the 'process.'
You've lived long enough to see quick fixes fail and have learned to distrust promises of instant breakthrough. The years of unchanged circumstances feel like proof that your situation is different, too hard, permanent.
The man was sick for 38 YEARS—longer than most people's entire lives, no hope, no help, lying by the pool watching others get healed. Jesus spoke ONE command: 'Rise, take up your bed and walk,' and IMMEDIATELY he was made well—38 years undone in one moment.
I REFUSE the lie that deliverance will never come. IT IS WRITTEN: Isaiah 49:25—even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, for the Lord contends with those who contend with me. God doesn't need my help or my timeline. The length of my captivity does NOT determine the speed of my freedom. IT IS WRITTEN: Acts 16:26—immediately all the prison doors opened and everyone's chains were loosed. I am a daughter of Abraham, walking in the BARAK—protected, delivered, victorious. My deliverance is NOT about my endurance but about HIS FINISHED WORK. I am FREE.
The Father isn't waiting for you to pray enough or fast enough—He's already sent Jesus to proclaim liberty to the captives and set at liberty those who are oppressed. He's running toward you with the key, not asking you to pick the lock.
