"I've been praying for years—if God was going to answer, He would have by now."

How it sounds in your head: You've been praying about the marriage, the finances, the prodigal kid for how long now? Five years? Ten? At some point you have to face reality—maybe this just isn't going to happen. Maybe you missed the window. Maybe God has moved on to people with fresher requests.

Habakkuk 2:3

"For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry."

-- Habakkuk 2:3
Enemy whispers: It's been too long—if God was going to answer, He would have by now. BUT IT IS WRITTEN: Habakkuk 2:3 - 'Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will SURELY come, it will NOT tarry.' God's timing isn't delay—it's precision. Abraham waited 25 YEARS for Isaac. Hannah prayed for YEARS before Samuel. Anna prayed 84 YEARS and saw Messiah the WEEK she needed to. IT IS WRITTEN in Isaiah 30:18 - 'Therefore the LORD will WAIT, that He may be gracious to you.' He's not late. He's RIGHT ON TIME. The answer is SURELY coming.
Quick Truth: LIE: It's been too long—God would've answered by now. TRUTH: Though it tarries, it will SURELY come—Habakkuk 2:3. God's timing is precision, not delay.

Source: Enemy weaponizing time to create hopelessness, as if God has an expiration date on His promises or gets tired of your requests.

Why this feels true:

The calendar doesn't lie—you've got years of journal entries asking for the same things. You're in your forties now; some doors feel like they've closed. The waiting has produced weariness, not faith.

Luke 1:13
Zechariah

Zechariah and Elizabeth had prayed for a child for DECADES—past childbearing years, into old age, until they'd given up. Angel appears: 'Your prayer is heard'—past tense. God had heard YEARS ago, was just waiting for the APPOINTED time to give them not just a baby, but the forerunner of Messiah.

Speak this out loud

I REFUSE the lie that my prayer has an expiration date. IT IS WRITTEN that though the vision tarries, it will SURELY come and will NOT delay. God has not forgotten, grown tired, or moved on. Every year of waiting has been God's PRECISION, not His delay. I am covered by the BARAK blessing of Abraham who waited 25 years—and the promise came EXACTLY when God said. IT IS WRITTEN that the Lord WAITS to be gracious to me. This is not rejection—this is SETUP for something bigger than I asked. I declare the answer is not late—it is RIGHT ON TIME and SURELY COMING.

But God actually:

Your Father hasn't been ignoring you for years—He's been preparing something so good, so precisely timed, that the wait will make sense in one moment. Like Zechariah who prayed for decades and got not just a son but the forerunner of Messiah, your Father has been assembling something BIGGER than your original request while you thought He was silent.
