"Something I did is blocking my prayers from reaching God."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe there's unconfessed sin or unforgiveness that's creating a barrier. I've heard preachers say God won't hear you if you haven't forgiven everyone or if there's hidden sin. What am I doing wrong that's blocking heaven?
"Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh... let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience."
-- Hebrews 10:19-22Religion uses Isaiah 59:2 (Old Covenant separation) to control people, ignoring that Jesus REMOVED the separation at the cross.
When prayers seem unanswered, finding something you did wrong gives you control—if you're the problem, you can fix it. Sermons about 'prayer blockers' create a checklist anxiety where you're constantly searching for the thing that disqualified you.
Manasseh sacrificed his own children to demons, filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, and led an entire nation into witchcraft. Yet when he prayed from captivity, God HEARD him, brought him back to Jerusalem, and restored him. If God heard the prayer of a child-sacrificing sorcerer who repented, your past doesn't block anything.
I REFUSE the lie that my sin blocks my prayers. IT IS WRITTEN: I have BOLDNESS to enter the Holiest by the BLOOD OF JESUS, not by my track record. The veil was torn, the separation ended, and I draw near with FULL ASSURANCE because of what JESUS did, not what I did. IT IS WRITTEN: 'There is NOW no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus.' I am the righteousness of God in Christ, and my prayers are heard because I'm IN HIM, covered by His blood, sealed by His Spirit. The BARAK blessing protects me even when I stumble, because it's based on COVENANT, not performance.
Your Father doesn't keep a sin scoreboard between you and answered prayer—Jesus satisfied every requirement at the cross. Like the prodigal who was embraced while still smelling like pigs, before he could finish his apology, your Father hears you BECAUSE you're His, not because you're perfect.
