"God answers prayers for missionaries and heroes but I'm not faithful or brave enough."
How it sounds in your head: I hear stories of people who gave up everything and got miracles, but I'm not doing anything that impressive. Maybe God only answers big prayers for people doing big things for Him.
"Then Peter opened his mouth and said: 'In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.'"
-- Acts 10:34-35Religion teaching that miracles are rewards for sacrifice rather than gifts from a loving Father to ALL His children.
Testimonies often highlight dramatic sacrifices followed by breakthrough, creating the equation: big sacrifice = big miracle. When your life feels ordinary without dramatic faithfulness, you assume God's power is reserved for spiritual heroes.
This woman wasn't even Jewish, had zero ministry résumé, and Jesus initially said His mission was to Israel not Gentiles. She persisted with simple faith, and Jesus healed her daughter INSTANTLY at a distance - no impressive credentials required, just confidence in His goodness.
I REFUSE the lie that miracles require hero-level faithfulness. IT IS WRITTEN that God shows NO PARTIALITY - His power isn't rationed based on sacrifice rankings. I am a branch connected to the Vine, and fruit comes from ABIDING not achieving. The BARAK blessing flowed to Abraham when he LIED, to Jacob when he DECEIVED, to Judah after INCEST - covenant trumps performance every time. IT IS WRITTEN in John 6:37, 'The one who comes to Me I will NEVER cast out' - no footnote about 'unless you're not brave enough.' My access is GIFT, not trophy. I receive as a child, not a contractor.
The Father isn't evaluating your sacrifice portfolio before releasing breakthrough - He ran to the Prodigal while he still reeked of failure. Your ordinary faithfulness matters infinitely more than spectacular religious performance because it's rooted in relationship, not résumé.
